Vietnamese remittances from overseas to HCM City, one of the country''s
leading destinations for remittances, hit US$3.7 billion by the end of
October, a year-on-year increase of 13 per cent.
The central bank''s recent dollar deposit reduction would not have a
negative effect on Vietnamese remittances from overseas because an
insignificant amount of the remittances went into savings.
Overseas Vietnamese have remitted nearly US$2.8 billion through HCM
City-based banks in the first eight months of this year, 6.2 per cent
higher than in the same period last year
